OFT Process--Question Formulation Technique
Step 1: Review the Rules for Generating Questions
Ask as many questions as possible.
Change any statement into questions.
Write down every question as it is stated.
Do not stop to judge, assess, or answer questions.
Step 2: Introduce QFT (Question Formulation Technique)
Step 3: Produce Questions
Step 4: Improve Questions:
Open-ended (research, search for the answer, or it would take a lot of detail to explain it)
Closed-ended (one word answers)
Step 5: Prioritize Questions
Questions you want or need to investigate further.
Cross out questions you know the answers to.
Share 3 starred priority questions.
Step 6: Discuss Next Steps
What will be done to answer questions
Step 7: Reflection
What have you learned from your process today?
What questions do you still have, even if it is not a priority question?
